New bloggers make the mistake of approaching posts as they would a college paper. Often times that approach leads to a blogging stalemate, and increased pressure to blog, both of which keep a steady flow of posts peppering your site.
Blogging Tip: Focus on writing three paragraph blog posts full of links and/or media (pictures, videos, slideshare presentations, etc).
The five to six paragraph posts that says everything you wanted it to say and captures the hearts of your audience are few and far between; 90% of the blog posts I read are less than four paragraphs.
If you can master the short post and integrate pinging (read this post if you have no idea what pinging is) into your blogging routine you are well on your way to a great blog.
here’s what marketing expert Seth Godin writes in one of his posts:
It is almost always about the accrued power of a thousand drips, drips that accrue, drop by drop until they overwhelm the status quo and break through, starting a flood.
Forget about the flood for now; focus on the drip!
